No Games Here. Check Out the "Ender's Game" and "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" Trailers

I've been working on a science fiction book trilogy for young adults, so it's been a long time since I posted anything, but don't worry, I'm back to blogging! First, I want to share some movie trailers.

There are two books I've enjoyed that are coming to movie theaters soon. They are Ender's Game and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Here's a trailer for Ender's Game:

I've been waiting for the movie adaption for Ender's Game for years and am glad that it's finally coming to theaters. There is a reason that it is the highest-selling science fiction book of all time. It's a great book and hopefully will be a great movie.

And here's a trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire:

I read the books and watched the first movie, and although I wasn't too impressed with the first movie, I'm hoping this one will be better.

What do you think? Are you looking forward to any of these movies?

  1. Wasn't crazy about the film version of the Hunger Games, but I did recently finish reading Ender's Game and look forward to the movie. I did not see the ending coming. I also don't think it's a young adult book at all.

    1. Did you see the similarities of Ender's Game and your first book after you read the former? I was surprised you didn't read it before writing your story, but it's a compliment that your book can be compared to the best-selling science fiction novel.

Ender's Game was first marketed as an adult book (after it had success in its original novella form), but somewhere along the line, the publisher decided to market it to young adults, which I believe helped its sales because teachers started to use the books as part of class reading assignments.

The new trilogy I'm writing is aimed at that market as well, but it doesn't mean it's not for adults. I read a study somewhere that said that the majority of young adult books are bought by adults for themselves.

  2. These are both great books. My only fear for Ender's Game is they don't keep the twist ending which blew my mind. It looks great though. Hunger Games lacked the intensity of the first novel, but hopefully they can take risks with the sequel. I've only read the first one. Which is the best of the trilogy?

    1. I think the problem with the Ender's Game movie is how they are going to surprise people when probably most of those who watch the movie have already read the book. They may focus more on the emotions and less on the surprise, but I don't know.

As for Hunger Games, they have a new director, so maybe it will be better than the first movie. The first book is my favorite.
