Reid Stories: Awesome Matrix Scene and VECTO Chapter 1.3

Here's an awesome scene from the Matrix movie (spoilers):

"The Matrix is a science fiction action media franchise created by Andy and Larry Wachowski and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. The series began with the feature film The Matrix (1999), and continued with two sequels, The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and The Matrix Revolutions (2003). The characters and settings of the films are further explored in other media set in the same fictional universe, including animation, comics, and video games." - Wikipedia

Here's where to find the movies: The Complete Matrix Trilogy (The Matrix / The Matrix Reloaded / The Matrix Revolutions) [Blu-ray].

And here's my VECTO scene of the week:

(Previously: After forcing his way into the military police headquarters, Botland is shot at.)

The onslaught ended, and the smoke slowly cleared, revealing the intruder. The barrage did not appear to have budged him an inch. His armor was red no longer, but black: black with the flattened remains of the bullets that had been fired at him and now clung to the metal like a second skin. Disdainfully, he grabbed a handful of bullets in one metal glove and extended his hand toward the police, palm out, as if making them an offer. Then, without waiting for a reply, he balled his fist, crushing the bullets into powder, and let the dust float away.

The policemen stepped back as one while the intruder brushed the bullets from his body armor. The bullets clanged against the floor.

"Is that all?" Botland asked. He then motioned with one hand, and Crysilis and Streamline stepped out from behind the wall to flank him.

"Fire!" the commander yelled, a hint of panic in his voice. "Switch to pulse-guns!"

Streamline was already firing. He took out the front line of police officers with a stream of energy from his rifle. Bodies collapsed, and the police slowly retreated, firing as they went.

The officers flipped the nozzles of their rifles around for pulse power and shot laserlike blasts at Streamline. But the heavily armored man kept dodging, always on the move, as if he possessed a second sense that alerted him to danger. He twisted and turned forcefully, quite speedy despite his heavy load, more like a machine than a fighter. He stopped suddenly in front of one officer and slammed the blunt end of his rifle in the man's face, then tumbled and spun through the others, so that no one dared fire for fear of hitting their own. But Streamline had no such concerns. He tripped another officer-a woman this time-and blasted her into a wall, then spun around and spat rapid energy from his rifle at a row of police still fumbling with their weapons.

Crysilis was faster still, a blue blur zipping through the blue room, all but unseen. Police collapsed as if struck down by a ghost. One bulged over, another had his face smashed in, and several were tossed in the air. Their weapons were stripped from them; one by one, they dropped to the ground.

But the red-suited leader didn't attack. He simply strolled down the middle aisle, stepping over fallen bodies, as casually as if he were sauntering through a park. He headed for the commander.

Nearly 50 men wiped out, Sable thought, in as many seconds. He aimed his gun and stepped back into a wall, knowing he would be next, knowing his weapon would be useless.

The last of his police officers, his gun overheated, staggered but pulled out a knife and lunged it at Streamline. He was met by Streamline's fist in his face, his body twisting to the ground.

Seeing his work was done, Streamline positioned his Omega Blaster over his back, and Crysilis appeared beside him. They both walked to their leader's side.

The police commander had watched video footage of them breaking into the building, so he knew they were threat. But this powerful? he thought. He stared at the human-looking figure in red and was about to speak when the intruder flashed up the steps, grabbed him by the throat and slammed him against the wall, yanking him up with a fierce grip.

"Where's Morphaal?!" Botland yelled.

(What does military police commander Sable know about Morphaal's whereabouts? And why would Botland attack the police? Find out more in the next installment of VECTO!)

  1. A great scene in the Matrix that's even better in context Reid. Crysilis reminds me of Quicksilver in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

    1. Yep, I thought the Matrix scene fit great here before the VECTO part. When I picked out a bunch of cool videos, I knew the Matrix one would go here. I can't say the same for the rest. I haven't seen the new X-Men movie yet, but I'm looking forward to buying it when it comes out in stores. I didn't think about the Quicksilver connection, but you'll figure out why Crysilis is so fast much later in the story (he's a mystery for a while).
